This is written to be read. It says what we collect, why, who else touches it, and how to make us stop.

If you got a postcard from us

We build preview websites for newly licensed Oregon and Washington contractors and mail a card about it. Everything on that preview came from the public contractor register (Oregon CCB or Washington L&I): your business name, licence number, city, phone, trade and registration date. We added nothing private and we did not buy your name from a list.

• The preview is not indexed by search engines. It exists to be shown to you, not found by anyone else.
• It comes down on the date printed on the card, about a month after mailing, whether or not you reply.
• Want it gone now? Text REMOVE to 503-898-8223 and it is off the same day, and you will not hear from us again.

What we collect, and why

What you give us

Your name, business name, phone number, email if you use one, the things you text or tell us on a call, and any photos, logos or documents you send for your site. We keep these to build and maintain your site and to remember what you asked for.

Visits to pages we host

Every page we host, previews and customer sites alike, tells us when it is opened. No cookies, no advertising trackers, no account. What we see: the rough city and network the visit came from (from the address the internet already sends us), whether the visitor scanned the QR code or typed the address, how long the page stayed open, whether they scrolled, and whether they tapped the call button. Why: so we can tell a customer "three people looked at your page this month and one tapped call," and so we can tell a real visit from a crawler. We keep this for 120 days.

Texts and calls

Texts to and from our number are kept so that whoever answers you next knows what you already told us. That may be a person or, as we build it, our assistant Cyrus, which reads and answers texts about your website and your account; when a message is from the assistant we will say so, and you can always ask for a person. Calls to our business line may be recorded and transcribed for the same reason; if a line records, you will hear that at the start of the call. Oregon law allows a party to a call to record it, and we say so anyway.

Payments

Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We see your name, email, the amount, and whether the payment went through.

Text messages, in the exact words the carriers ask for

• By texting us or replying to a text from us, you agree to receive text messages from Cyrus Studio about your website and your account. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP to stop at any time. Reply HELP for help, or call 503-898-8223.
• Your mobile phone number and your consent to receive texts will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Who else touches it

We do not sell data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. These companies process it on our behalf, each for one job:

• Cloudflare hosts every preview and customer site, delivers it, and receives the visit signals above.
• Stripe takes payments.
• Telnyx carries our texts and calls.
• Google runs our email and, when you ask us to, your Google Business Profile. You own that profile; we manage it with your written permission under Google's third-party policy. A Business Profile is free to claim and manage yourself; our fee is for setting it up, managing it and keeping it current, and it is part of the monthly price, not extra. Google's own advice on working with a third party is worth two minutes of your time.
• PostGrid prints and mails the postcards, so it sees the name and mailing address from the public register.
• Porkbun registers and manages domain names, in your name, and runs the DNS for our own.
• AI model providers (Anthropic, Google and others, reached through the paid OpenRouter API) write the first draft of a page and make the sample images and logo from your business name, trade and city. On the paid tiers we use, that text is not used to train their models. They never receive your phone number, address, card details, or the contents of your texts, and we read and correct everything they write before it goes on a page.

Your choices

• Delete everything: text or email us and say so. We delete what you gave us, your texts, and your site files within 30 days, keeping only what tax law makes us keep (invoices).
• Take a preview down early: text REMOVE.
• Stop texts: reply STOP.
• Your domain and your site are yours. If you leave, we hand both over. Details are in the terms.

The rest

We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18. We keep data in the United States. If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will text current customers before it takes effect, not after. This page is the whole policy; there is no longer version somewhere else.
